Amy Aboud’s journey toward health restoration brought her to yoga where she was seeking to find an internal balance within her corporate career, gym life, and personal life. After her first yoga class she could feel there was much more to yoga than simply the asana practice. She soon signed up for a 200-hour teacher training to both understand what she was beginning to experience and to deepen her practice. After completing her 200-hour teacher training at Eternal Health Yoga, she felt led to continue her studies in their 300-hour advanced teacher training.

After spending 2 ½ years of complete immersion in the study of the yogic lifestyle beside many amazing yogis (including Your Yoga’s Jessi Alexander, Lincoln, and Cheyenne) she has experienced the internal stretching and transformation that a yogic lifestyle can bring to one’s life. She is passionate about sharing the love and the learning she has experienced to those around her. She believes and experiences how the lessons learned are intrinsically connected to her daily life both in the workplace and in her interactions with the world. She considers it one of the true honors of her life to be able to share the beauty of the yogic lifestyle and philosophies as a teacher.

Amy Aboud was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Kentucky Country Day School, Miami of Ohio University, and has a Masters in English Literature from University of Louisville. She currently works as the Marketing Director at a national company she was a part of creating. Her partner is a working artist, and they live in Louisville with their English Bulldog, Tootie.

Jessi Alexander

As Founder and Director of Your Yoga, Jessi is an Instructor, yoga practitioner, and constant student. She is a mother of a toddler and married to her Kiwi soul mate. She is dedicated to living and teaching a yogic lifestyle, including a non-harming, non-violent vegan culture. Jessi views yoga as a lifestyle that promotes self-healing, peace toward yourself and others, mindfulness and self-observance, and hopes to inspire others to discover how yoga can alter their life in a positive manner. Jessi began practicing yoga 10 years ago, in Chicago. As an athlete, she viewed yoga as a new “exercise” that would improve her dexterity in sports and help relieve sports-related pain and injuries. After continuing to practice on a regular basis, Jessi realized that yoga is so much more than just another exercise and she wanted to share it with others. While in Chicago, she began exploring ways to become an instructor. After getting married and traveling abroad, she ended back in her home town of Louisville. The focus on becoming a yoga instructor was her main goal. Jessi has pursued her yoga dream by opening a studio to provide to all those searching. She received her 500-hour teaching certificate at Eternal Health Yoga. Jessi is a Louisville native, graduating from Assumption High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Double Minor in Marketing & Communications from Bellarmine University. Jessi is an experienced, registered Yoga instructor with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 200, RYT-500).

Julie Barlow

Julie found yoga over twenty years ago as a way to stay fit while juggling the demands of motherhood and a hectic work schedule. Her love for it grew over time as she began to understand how a yoga practice can heal and restore physical and mental wellbeing. Though her training has roots in Ashtanga, her practice is also heavily influenced by Sarah Powers Insight/Yin Yoga as well. Julie is fascinated with the relationship between the physical body and the energy body, as well as the mind body connection. She has traveled extensively across the globe and her love of travel inspired her to co-found Travel to Transform International, an organization hosting international wellness retreats designed to explore mindfulness tools, connect with others and push through inner boundaries. As a personal consciousness trainer, she has a passion for gently guiding others to explore their inner soul and shift their dreams toward reality. She has studied many motivational and self-awareness techniques over the years, but has found the consistency of time on the mat to be one of the strongest vehicles to personal change. Off the mat, she’s happiest digging in her flower and herb gardens, playing in the kitchen or doing just about anything outdoors. Julie has her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification.

Lisa brings a vast array of experiences to her yoga students. Lisa is a dentist by training, where her love for science and the “workings of the body” influence her understanding of yoga poses and her ability to convey the biomechanics of yoga movements to her students. As a dance teacher of 12 years as well as a middle school girls’ field hockey coach of 6 years, Lisa brings with her prior teaching experience.

Lisa has been teaching Yoga for over 20 years. Her often-painful journey through practicing and teaching Yoga include many personal injuries. In 2005 she acted on her dream to bring Yoga to the masses, where Yoga poses are modified so that all people regardless of age or condition may enjoy the practice of Yoga without pain or injuries by becoming certified at the 500 hr. level in the Viniyoga tradition..

Lisa is also a 500 hr. certified Yoga Therapist in the same tradition where she uses the tools of the Yoga tradition as a means for promoting healing of the body, mind and spirit. One of her biggest passions is working with those who have suffered brain injuries.

Another passion is mindfulness cultivated by working, for almost a decade, in a mindfulness program with middle school aged children from a local grade school. This passion lead her to study i-Rest, a type of mindfulness meditation and form of Yoga Nidra, where she is Level II certified. She is a practitioner and teacher in this discipline.

Lisa resides in the St. Matthews area of Louisville with her husband and dog. She enjoys spending time with her oldest daughter and son-in-law and youngest daughter and her boyfriend. She loves traveling and reading as many spiritual books as she can get her hands on.

Cheyenne DeBlois

Cheyenne is a wife, mother of two amazing daughters, lover of animals, food, books, and music. A long time yoga practitioner, Cheyenne started her yoga journey about 15 years ago in her hometown of Richmond, VA. After a few years of practicing, she found herself wanting to deepen her knowledge and share her experience with others. In 2006, she completed her 200 hr training and received her teaching certificate with Yoga Source in Richmond, VA. Cheyenne believes in living a yogic lifestyle. Vegetarian since she was a teenager, she slowly adopted a vegan way of living. She believes all beings deserve a chance at life and that compassion is essential. She volunteers weekly at a local farm sanctuary where she helps with animal care and barn chores (goat snuggles are the best!). You will often find her at live music shows, cooking, or curled up reading a book somewhere.

Cheyenne moved to Louisville in the summer of 2014 and has fallen in love with the town. Her search to continue her yoga path landed her at Eternal Health Yoga. She will receive her 500 hour certificate in early 2017 under the guidance of Shelli Carpenter. She is super excited to be a part of the Your Yoga family and to share her practice with her students as they move along their own journey.

 

Dawn Dones

Dawn Dones is a listener, leader, facilitator, instructor, cook, and companion.

She is a cultivator of authenticity, her own and those who seek her in this capacity. For twenty years, she has accompanied people into deep questions that encourage a fuller understanding of who they are and how they aspire to be in the world.

She is attentive to the movement of her heart and willing to speak honestly to the light and dark edges of her life. She has led hundreds of retreats for women encouraging them to realize the truth that we all are enough, we all are worthy of love, we all are good exactly as we are.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Bellarmine University, a Master of Arts in Spirituality from Bellarmine University and the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (to be completed June 4, 2017) with focus on Restorative Yoga, Spiritual Direction Certification through the Nazareth Spirituality Center, and is a member of Spiritual Directors International.

Dawn enjoys yoga, cooking, baking, tending to her garden, and spending time with the people she loves most in the world.

Lincoln Snyder is an IT Professional who started his yoga journey in 2013 as a way to cope with mid-life and the stress of a demanding career. What started as a twice a week exercise class quickly turned into a daily passion as Lincoln tapped into the transformative power of yogic living to overcome chronic health complaints while developing strength, peace and purpose. Having fun is of great interest to Lincoln and he infuses his holistic study of the science of yoga with joy and humor. Lincoln studied under Shelli Carpenter at Eternal Health Yoga, completed his 200 hour teacher training in 2015 and is excited to share his knowledge and passion for yoga.

Molly Wingfield

Molly is a mother to 3 great teenagers and 2 dogs. She loves being a perpetual student of yoga and life, and cannot get outdoors enough, whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, boating, skiing or walking the dogs, the outdoors is Molly’s preferred setting. Molly discovered yoga 14 years ago, and has been a faithful practitioner ever since.  She has explored Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Yin, Power and Vinyasa styles. She has been teaching yoga in a variety of settings and to a variety of levels for 10 years. She describes her teaching style primarily as a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa. Molly firmly believes that YOU are the greatest teacher you will ever know. She guides her students through pranayama (breathwork) and asanas (postures), and ultimately helps each student tap into their inner wisdom to cultivate awareness of their bodies.  Molly has her 200-hour yoga instructor certification.
