“In Kundalini Yoga the most important thing is your experience. It goes right to your heart. No words can replace your experience.” –Yogi Bhajan
Jaime Seelmeyer, along with the Your Yoga community, invite you to join us for an afternoon exploration into the practice Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini is the oldest from of yoga, having been used for thousands of years as a technology for living with grace, ease, vitality, and expansion into one’s totality. While forms of hatha yoga work more gently and steadily toward one’s expansion, Kundalini is like rocket fuel…it takes you there!! Because of it’s power, this yoga was kept in secret by the masters for ages, until Harbhajan Singh Khalsa, known as Yogi Bhajan, brought it to the West in the late 1960s. And ever since, Kundalini has been rapidly growing in the states. This empowering style of yoga supports daily vibrant living for all bodies and has been embraced in therapeutic settings for anxiety, depression, addiction, recovery, and more.
Kundalini energy is the powerful, primal life-force within each of us. Kundalini yoga awakens this life-force via dynamic movement, breath, meditation, mantra and mudra. Body, mind, and spirit are aligned as you increase your vitality, relieve stress, balance the mind, and open your heart. This uplifting style is infused with devotional energy and compliments all other traditions of yoga. Class is easily accessible to yoga beginners. In this workshop we’ll discuss guidelines for practice, including tuning in, pranayam (breath), bandhas (energy locks), mantra, mudra, and more! We’ll finish with a beginner’s set of exercises and mantra meditation to tap into your innate vitality and radiance!
About Jaime: Jaime is a local yoga student and teacher, yoga therapist, energy therapist, and healer. Jaime began her yoga practice as an outlet for stress and self-care while in graduate school studying clinical mental health. Jaime is passionate about sharing the healing elements of yoga with her students as they find inner strength, harmony, and remembrance of their wholeness. Her classes emphasize body/mind balance, the power of breath, subtle anatomy (chakra system), mindfulness, spirituality, and self-acceptance. Jaime received her 200-hour training at Yogaia Yoga School and studied Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan with Sierra Hollister. In 2017, Jaime opened Omology, a holistic mental wellness practice.
